you guys continually come up with solutions to problems that don't exist,
and justify it by calling it self suffiency or personal preference or what
ever other name you chose.

Turn your bottom timer on before you jump in the water.  Does it work?  If
yes, what are the odds of it failing in the next hour or two.  Close enough
to zero that if it happens, my buddy is there.  My buddies are always there,
but for you guys that insist on violating rule no. 1, shoot a lift bag with
knotted line/rope at 10 foot intervals and deco off your watch.  If your
watch fails,  count the deco.  Sheck did this from 800+ feet at Bushmangat.
