See my post from last night. Scuba diving, good or bad, has evolved way beyond a natural set of people more into the general population. There are allot of open water divers that I have talked to or worked with that I would place in the "natural" category and this configuration (DIR for OW) is perfect. What is left is the rest. They range from the 4~6 dives a year, blue water, < 60 fsw types that this type diving is just for them. To the want to be at should not be, that this could be like putting a gun in their hands with the knowledge, skills, mind set, or ability to use it safety and correctly. They will become the statistic we all wish not to have. What is the true meaning of quality in relation to the diver and what should an "open water" divers goal be with respect to equipment, planning and attitude, if it is to be some measure less than perfection ? (and yes I know the commonly accepted definition of the tech diver term, I am challenging you to think beyond the label) regards, al marvelli -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
