Hi Peter,

I've used mine in water as cold as 3 degrees C.

True and it's because of the amount of things that you must remember, I
prefer to keep it to a minimum. I only use the self-sealing bag now and I
only need to remember to pick it up and put it in my pocket.

So did I until I was twice in the situation where I deployed it and nothing
happened. Quite often you're going to fill it and you get distracted on the
boat by someone or something else. Then you forget, clip it on and dive and
don't realise until you're about to use it. I'm not saying that it's beyond
anyone's mental capacity - it's just that it's too easy to get distracted
and forget about it.

Yes I had the ADP. I sometimes used my suit pocket, sometimes rear d ring.

Glad to hear it. Like many skills, deploying an SMB properly needs to be
practiced repeatedly. Having a self-filling SMB means you don't practice
that skill until you really need to use it - that's not the time to discover
that you can no longer do it properly.

How was that ? ;-)

Best,
John.
