So tell me how a set of AL 80's is dangerous???  Really sounds like somebody 
feeding you a line of shit.  Go ahead and figure what your normal dive time 
will be on one of these dives and if your consumption is as you say you will 
always finish with more than half of your gas.  I would look for a new shop 
or instructor.
