I just looked up the page on Trader John's web-site. These are not real
"Gavin Scooters", but instead poorly made clones. The guy making them
(Dureimer), can't even fix a scooter yet he's out there trying to make
some.

The real Gavin Scooters are sold to help support the WKPP. The sale of
the scooters helps keep the entire fleet up and running, as well as
provide other things the WKPP uses for exploration. Anyone who wants to
have a good quality scooter, and help out the WKPP, can purchase the
real Gavin Scooter.
