Hans, was known best known as "The Man who pulled the plug on the U-505". Hans pulled the plug on the U-505 in a unsuccessfully attempt to scuttle the boat prior to becomming captured by the Allies. Hans is survived by his wife and 6 yr. old daughter, they plan to keep the family enterprise (Historic Mugs) open. Historic Musgs sells coffee mugs and Tee Shirts that recognize many of the U-Boats, also the Luftwaffe, Panzer, and others. Many of you may have met Hans last year when he came to Nags Head on the Outer Banks to help kick off the Grand Opening of The Outer Banks Dive Center.
