I wear size nine shoes but had to use size 12 boots to fit over the suit with socks and booties on under the dry suit. I found the rock boots to be quite comefortable, both for walking and diving. They did not feel any differently than "normal" attached dry suit boots for swimming. They felt very stable walking around on gravel surfaces, much like a good pair of walking boots. I did, however have to go to a larger pair of fins. My XL ScubaPro Jetfins would not fit on the size 12 rock boots. I had to use a Pair Turtle fins. Hope this helps. Good diving, Cpt.
