Jason,

I think you have misunderstood the FAUI Scuba Diver rating (basic level diver). 
 Practical tests for this rating include '4 hours of open water diving 
including at least one boat dive and 3 dives to below 9m and not deeper than 18 
metres.'

The FAUI Deep Diver Course objective is to "provide the diver with the 
necessary skills and knowledge for diving to depths of up to 40 metres.  "All 
diving is to be within 'no decompression limits"

When did you do your FAUI Scuba Diver (basic level) course and who was your 
instructor?  Do you still have your certification book?
