I have been following the pony bottle thread and am a little confused. I use a pony bottle (please take it easy on me) for diving. I haven't been able to upgrade to doubles yet (There seems to be a lack of teck instructors in Maine). The times I use a pony are when I am diving alone or plan on spending time away from the others I am diving with. I don't use it on any dive I would have to do deco on, I dive part time for scallops and urchins, most dives are to a max of 40-50 feet. If you don't know the industry it can get very competitive between different boats and divers. This makes it hard to work closely to others. I feel this is the type of diving that the pony bottle was designed for. I have luckily never had to use it to date but i still like to have it there (I also haven't had an accident with my car but still carry insurance on it). Any comments would be welcome, I am always looking to be a safer diver. Zak Winship zak@tr*.ne* -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
