You know, Paolo, I agree that there seems to be a bit of a hiatus of good info on techdiver lately. But I also don't think that you can join this list and then sit back on your fat ass expecting valuable, pertanent data to be delivered to your computer on a silver platter either. Any discourse is better than nothing. And if you have any questions you may post them to the list and see what discussions insue. Some are too timid or afraid of exposing their ignorance, but as you can see Farmer Jack's posts, ignorance did not stop him. Even from the apparently meaningless "farmer jack" string we can glean the information that there are some people who should not have computers. I also noticed from this string that there seems to be a set of "talking points" when referring to George Irvine. I would imagine that they go something like this: -While George has valuable information, you don't like the way it's presented. -Accuse George of restricting the right of others to voice their opinion even as you try to restrict his rights. -Refer to George's followers as religious zealots or even nazis. -Infer that George has some kind of secret power to that will keep people from diving if they don't do it his way. -Refer to DIR principles as unworkable for the way you dive. Using these talking points you can create your standard "anti-george" email. So, if you want some pithy information exchange, start something up. What kind of wrecks you have over there in Italy? What kind of rig do you use? I know that some fine manifolds are made in your country, like the bargain-priced Genisis manifold. What brand do you use? Is there a local brand manifold which is the OEMed to Scubapro and Diverite?
