If you rig it upright on you back,it is a pony,and perhaps not the best way.

If you rig it on your back inverted,you can more easily reach the tank valve
but this has obvious problems.

If you rig it sidemount,with the reg.charged and valve shut off , this
probably the better way.

HOWEVER, as Exley said "Nobody ever died from too much gas."!!!!!!!
