Subject: Well done, usdct

Well, it would appear that, after a mere 45 days, the usdct has managed to
surpass the '87 project, if their latest update is to be believed. I think
you guys deserve to be impressed with yourselves...I know I was the first
time I did that dive. In fact, I was so impressed, I did it again the next
day on the same set of doubles. (I had only used stage bottles the first
day.)

That dive takes 160 cu ft of oc gas if you are a hoove, takes 55 minutes if
you are slow and requires less than 4 hours total time in the water. We
have not seen the deco, but based on Matthes claim of a 2:39 bt, it should
be horrific.

It must be nice to have the "deco advantage" of the Cis Lunar.
Unfortunately, the only thing you guys are "trippling" is the bt/feet of
cave. I guess spending so much time dicking with that thing makes it
impossible to cover any distance. In the future, will all Cis Lunars
purchased for serious diving come with a chamber to do the deco?

As for the sign at "K Tunnel", well since all of our guys routinely go way
past that, maybe just maybe that was left for less qualified divers who
might come after the WKPP. Why would we leave a note for our own guys?
Duh?

Finally, there seems to be some preoccuapation with the lines in Wakulla.
Guys, this is not Ginnie Springs, anymore; this is real live cave diving.
Lines break. It is no big deal. The line was fine the last time I did that
dive, but then we know the cave and don't get stressed out by broken lines;
we just fix them and go on. What is the big deal here? I guess we should
have put a big stop sign in the cavern that says do not proceed unless cave
certified. If broken lines are a major impediment, you guys need to go
back and take a cave diving class.

The good news is, only 45 days and the pros will be back in there sans
circus, sans stupidity.

Trout
