I've used Scubapro regulators when ice diving, and also in the Great Lakes with temperatures from 37 degrees to 45 degrees. The regulator I personally used for that was either a MK10/Balanced Adjustable/Sherwood or a MK15/G250/R190. I never had a problem with free flows. When I went to buy new regulators to use on my doubles, I bought MK20/G250's. I was always happy with my older G250, and I was told by a trusted dive shop employee that the MK20/D400 seemed to have free flow problems in those colder waters, more so than the G250. Under the right (wrong?) conditions ANY regulator will free flow. It is important in colder air temperatures to avoid breathing off of the regulator out of the water, so that it doesn't ice up prior to the dive. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
