Assuming you're following the thirds rule you can't wait til 1/2 to switch. What happens if you switch and find out the reg is dead right away? For cave diving I switch at 1/3 on the first tank which is half way through the dive. Then I don't need to switch again (at least I hope I don't 8-). Switching at 1/3 is only about a kilo of weight change and doesn't effect roll much. Every five minutes is not necessary. Devon
