John Vanderleest, accompanied by team = physician John Zumrick, M.D., dive partner Andrew Poole, and chamber = operator Joe Dituri, traveled to the hyperbaric medicine facility at the = Tallahassee Community Hospital. A treatment table 6A, as prescribed by = the hyperbaric facilitiy physician, was fully successful and Vanderleest = is doing fine. The specific reason for the DCS (decompression sickness) = incident is being investigated. It is possible that the diver = inadvertantly omitted several of the deeper stops that otherwise would = have been required. Procedures to prevent this in the future are being = developed and we have chosen to stand down on fielding cave missions = temporarily until the floating decompression habitat can be brought up = to full operational status, capable of handling any on-site future DCS = problems that might arise.
