Vinny - long hose is for overhead environments - you do not need it if
you are not overhead. It works perfectly for anything , however, if you
have it held down by a light or knife.

Extra weight must be ditchable, not necessarily quickly. I put my
weightbelt on under my harness so that it will not fall off if it comes
unbuckled .

By the way, the long hose is not "wrapped" around the neck, it is just
laying there.

I hate to say this as it may come off the wrong way, but you will
eventrualy find out why the whole DIR system is the way it is.
