Well, here's my opinion on that : It's not that I don't like a joke from time to time, but I feel that any kind of diving, be it rec or tech, should be considered as being serious . You never know, someone might take the 'joke' for real, and actually go diving like that. It happens. I have a lot of fun diving but do not consider it a 'funny' sport. On the contrary, diving is 'dead' serious. The water is without mercy . When I'm under the water, I do NOT joke around, I enjoy the dive, but I'm always cautious, as I believe every diver should be. There is NO second chance if things go wrong down there and your actions, or your gear, or your training , are wrong. Ask any of the friends and families of the deceased this year how serious diving can be. It should not be taken lightly, and certainly not on a public forum, where a lot of people follow what those 'in the know' have to say. I for one have learned a lot via the techdiver forum, and have incorporated it into my diving. And if someone tries to be funny, it should be obvious to the reader that it is a joke, either by saying so, by its unmistakingly funnycontent or by using the ;-) signs. That way, they can take it for what it is, and not be mislead by it. rgrds and take care Adri Haine Case E. And look on the bright side, reading the list is FREE, unlike most diving or college classes I've taken! -Case Adriaan_Haine@ce*.be* wrote: > > I'm not following this list for the humor.
