Greetings to all the guys and to the snake-tongued lady of the net! I am faced with a delicate problem: I am a final year CompSci student in the process of changing my major project from "A Graphical Simulation of Simple Mechanical Problems" to "Decompression and Dive Planning Software" which will come in as shock to my department (as we are already 6 weeks through term 1). I need to compile a new Project Proposal (by Monday), sufficiently detailed, so that I can convince them it is indeed a viable project of reasonable difficulty and one with scope for extensions. As I have no previous experience of implementing such algorithms or having played enough with another deco program, it seems to me like a longshot (but one which I must take as it beats the hell out of simulating wobbly springs and stuff like that) ANY help whatsoever concerning algorithms, ideas, existing programs and how to get them, convincing arguments for the department, literally anything you consider significant will be greatly appreciated. I MUST have a go at such a project! Much obliged, kots. PS: Perhaps personal replies may be more appropriate (lets not start another chain reaction!!) ---------------- Konstantinos Koryllos, Computer Science Dept. University of Edinburgh, Scotland
