If the video was any indication of what the actual dive was like it is a wonder either of them got out alive - they looked to me like they just went out and bought the gear without a bit of training. Unfortunately, testimonials don't seem to help much where mothers are concerned but I think you can assure her that any real cave diver who saw that was probably driven to tears - it was just too seriously stupid, tragic, and embarrassing for laughter. Your ability to spot this as such before your training even begins is a good sign that you already have your act together where it counts most - attitude. Fill in the blanks with good technique and a cautiously paced accumulation of experience and you will make a good cave diver.
