Subject: Re: Catalina Island Diving Incident... Here are the Clues.
>If this was a boat dive, why was there a 100 yard surface swim?
Depth of the water below and near the boat was 50' or so... Too deep for OW1

>What was the physical conditioning of the diver in question?
Overweight (but not excessively). Clearly not much physical activity in
his recent past.

>When he vomited, did you immediately ensure that his airway was clear?
He was conscience and he was keeping it clear by leaning over to vomit.
No choking indication at all.

No indication of medication on his medical form. He "forgot" to tell us
about this medication.

I didn't really think it was *that* unusual. I've seen shallow breathing
and a lack of "proper" response before. His behavior was not odd enough to
warrant surfacing, although in retrospect... <sigh>

There are no absolutes in this world. Truth is gray, and it is our job to
seek out the truths we wish to follow, remembering never to judge the truths
of others.
Keep in mind that the difference between right and wrong
can be infinitely small if you examine the problem from
enough perspectives... and the ability to consider other
perspectives is a sign of an advanced soul.
