>Hal just a thought but what about using ram and power the ram from compressed >air. Don't recall what the orginal discussion was, but I think I was trying to express that most of us here on the west coast of the US don't have easy acess to trimix and nitrox so many of us make our own. We've found that the most cost effective way is to buy about 3 large cylinders (330 cu.ft. each) of He and the same for O2, stack our gases as necessary and then top off with hydrocarbon free compressed air either from a RIX compressor or one that has the Lawrence filters on the output side. The problem with using the Rix tends to be that most of what I've hear that's negative relates to it's high maintence costs and low top psi of 3300 psi. (Not enough for those of us using 3500 psi tanks let alone any "over" filling, which, of course, none of us would do) I'm still in the market for a 220 volt, single phase, home compressor unit capable of 4500 psi, 5-8 cfm either filtered for Nitrox or Rix if it's one of the newer units that are capable of that pressure.
