Correct me if i'm wrong, but wouldnt it make sense that the spring straps wouldnt me a major snag point. If you think about it, one side of the spring is against your foot, thereby making it virtually impossible for the line to get wrapped in it. About the only thing I could think of is if it were to get caught in between the spring coils, however, this would only be a one way snag and wouldnt be able to get entagled and wrapped around the coils. If your strap comes off (which it shouldnt) then you might be able to get the line wrapped around the spring. And if you're worried about the snagging the line on your fins which CAN be removed, you might want to think about what most of the wreckers I know up north have: butt mounted lights , tanks d-rings, and their load of tools (of which all but the latter of the three cant be easily removed in water and lots of metal snag points). If you were to get the line snagged on your fins that would be one of the easier plases to remove the line from with any of your cutting devices. I myself have only had monofilament line caught on myself once, and that was when i was diving a sinkhole. That time the line was easily removed with my cheezy but cheap z-knife. Just thought i'd put my $0.02 worth in. > -----Original Message----- > From: Scaleworks@ao*.co* [SMTP:Scaleworks@ao*.co*] > Sent: Friday, October 16, 1998 2:34 PM > To: techdiver@aquanaut.com > Subject: Fwd: Oceanic spring straps > > > > Hi Jim, > > I wasn't refering to the lack of buckles, which is a great feature, > mine are > covered completely with duct tape, and have only caused me problems, > but the > springs themselves.
