Captains
The only NE dive boat I've been on is the Seeker, the others told us that
all the boats up there are rigged this way.I don't think they have been on
the Wahoo. But they told us all the boats do not have a lead line from the
anchor line to hang line, but one must let go of the anchor line to get to
the hang line to deco, even in low vis where it becomes a leap of faith. Is
this true?Is the Wahoo like this?We are talking about this because as you
know new divers come on the boat not knowing about these things. How do I
know, because I was one.We are not attacking anyone or boat.Jim posted our
minutes to let everyone know what went on at our meeting. In hope that some
new diver going to do the Doria will know about this.Of the ones that will
be going with us next year,I think they should know.Believe me when I say
that
I do not care about the way the boats are rigged,I have, will dive off any
boat as long as it has a good capt. and crew. The Seeker has both.I'm sure
the Wahoo does also. But I should have been told to bring some kind of gear
line.Which is what I'm telling everyone else.Is this to hard to agree on !I
guess I'm spoiled because I get to run the Miss Lindsey and dive off her
too.60ft ,hang bars off port and stbd, lead lines down to forty ft on the
anchor line, not one but two fin ladders and a swim platform.
I may be young by your age(I'm 41),but that only means that I should be
around longer then you at this time, but I could be wrong about that.
If you would like to see the way this is set up,look in Gary Gentiles
latest tech book.He has an underwater shot of the lines and hangbars in
it.I have not seen a better set up.As for the ladder,it sounds as if Zero
and us have the same.Fin Ladder.I am not trying to offend anyone about
this, just trying to tell others what they may need,to have a better trip.
