The high water dumped by Hurricane George is rushing through the
Middle Suwannee, raising the river level at Branford by six feet
in the past 48 hrs. The crest is forecasted for Tuesday, 10/6, by
NWS. We look for this mess to clear out fairly quickly.
Springs and Sinks affected by this sudden high water show mixed
results:
Telford Spring,Charles Spring - Gone.
Peacock I - Get your gear. Clear at the basin. Orange Grove is
unusually nice.....can see the bottom. Challenge is crystal.
Mosquitoes are fierce.
Cow Spring - Very Clear
Royal Spring - Gone.
Little River Spring - Tannic over the headpool, cracks blue
at 10' near the window. Low flow. Water
up to the sixth step. Entry road dry.
Ginnie Spring/Devils Eye - Clear
Madison Blue: No report. Called and got a machine. We suspect the
Withlacoochie got wacked.
The fast boat went out for a recon run this afternoon:
Troy Spring - Gone....so is river visibility.
Floating debris, large trees hazard navigation.
Conditions as of Friday p.m. Updates to follow..........D.
