I think that is the point that most folks who do not understand DIR don't get. If they just TRIED it...the easiest thing to do is step back, look at the setup and all of a sudden you say "Damn...that DOES make sense!" Sure, 99.9% of us will NEVER do 300' for 6 hours w/ 9 1/2 hours of deco...but why not be as safe as JJ and George doing whatever dive you happen do. To know a better/safer way of doing something and NOT do it is pure foolishness...stubborness that will end up cuasing harm. I'd rather be safe and accept the opinions and trials of those who do it faster/harder/deeper and SAFER... You can't run an organization like the WKPP, have thousands of man hours of dives and zero serious accidents w/o having a good system.
