Well, as you know, when things get nasty in the tropics, your old buddy Frank Bama gets called in by the USCG and USN to do hurricane recon. Let me tell you, the Hemisphere Dancer, my seaplane, has been through some storms, but this latest one, Hurricane Georges, scares me. I was talking to some of the computer geeks and the hurricane center in Coral Gables and they say the latest model shows Goerges passing to thru the straights of Florida between the Keys and Cuba. Then, the high pressure system over the southeast will suck Georges up the west coast of Florida where it is expected to stall over Hudson, Florida for a few days. Then as low pressure in the gulf states replaces the high pressure, Georges will be pulled back off shore where it is expected to intensify. Final landfall is projected for Wakulla County on October 1st. The really weird part is that the current model shows this thing stalling out over Wakulla all the way thru December. Georges looks like a badass to be reckoned with. Well, that's what the model shows anyway. Frank. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
