While diving in LR on Sat. the faceplate of my dive buddy's Mako scooter imploded without any advanced warning. After recovering the scooter and disassembling the foreshell, it became immediately evident that the rectangular faceplate at the front of the scooter is a rather flimsy construction. I would prefer NOT to replace the faceplate with the original Oceanic replacement part but instead something more sturdy. Unfortunately, although AUL produces a solid Lexan faceplate for the Tekna, that faceplate does not fit a Mako scooter. Maybe AUL will eventually also manufacture a replacement part for the Mako but I am afraid I can't wait that long. Hence my question: anybody out there know of anyone who is making and selling a re-designed (sturdier) faceplate for the Mako? Thanks in advance. /Matthias -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'. Send subscribe/unsubscribe requests to `techdiver-request@aquanaut.com'.
