The best place to start is with a Hogarth-inspired singles set-up. I made one for a fresh OW diver: plastic backpack (like the plastic back-pack insert from some older bc's), hogarth webbing, a little zeagle mini-wing, 3 billyrings, quick-release buckle, & crotch stap. Octopus on bungy neck strap. Weightbelt. Very, small, very clean, very slick, very easy. I dive the same myself on recreational dives - minus the wing (I dive dry). rgrds billyw -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
