Just go back from the Bahamas where I dove with Robert Carmichael and =
Bill Mee for a research project. We did 2 dives a day at depths between =
150 and 315 feet. Surface interval between dives was 1 - 2 hours. =
Bottom times were all 25 minutes, except for a Halcyon dive where we =
spent a solid hour at 180 feet. For decompression we just scootered up =
the top of the wall and ran up the slope toward shore. Thus, we covered =
alot of territory while seeing lots of fish, etc. Not a bad way to =
perform decompression. We did see some huge sharks, but none were =
interested in us. On the last dive, while at 200' we saw a shark which =
appeared to be the size of my truck 100' below us. I do not know what =
type of shark it was, but can guess it was one of 3 types. Not very =
comforting to think about. As I was breathing 71% helium, it could not =
be narcosis. =20
Leaving for Norway and then Sweden on tuesday to give some rebreather =
training to the Vikings and reeze my butt off. I will be back on Sept =
18th. Thus, I will not check emails until after that time. =20
