In fact, toxicology is the only thing that can absolutely rule this out,
or other problems like sudafed (pseudoephedrine, anecdotally cited in a
number of O2 toxicity hits).  That is why it is routinely done at
autopsy.

I would very much like to see these Suffolk County ME's various reports,
or talk about them to someone who has seen them.

If anyone can help, please let me know.  Confidentiality is always
assured.
