At the point of trying to keep the CCR units under a certain cost then a certain amount of compromise has to be given. I don't mind if you state that you dive a rebreather that uses electronics to monitor your gas, I do however mind when you attempt to tell me that it is perfect and electronics never fail. I bet that the last two divers to die on a rebreather thought the same thing. Just don't expect the family to come back and sue for damages. To quote Richard Pile on the issue responsibilty and rebreather diving, "My wife understands how important that philosophy is to me, and thus would never dream of suing anyone in the event of my untimely death underwater - regardless of the circumstances. My parents understand too." Hell youv'e been told over and over that the potential exist for electronic failure and I don't believe every failure will result in a successful bailout as has been proven in the past few weeks.
