This past weekend, July 23-25, the WKPP set a new world record, laying line
out to 18,000 feet, bottom time of 365 minutes at 300 feet. A LOT of
teamwork was involved over the course of 2 days. From myself and the rest
of the team, I want to thank everyone who showed up to make this happen.

Thursday night, we had deco set up after the park closed for the following
day's dives. I want to thank Jody Everett, Steve Straatsma, Errol Kalayci,
Lori Boock, Frank McDowell, Tim MacMahon Herve Deschamps, and Jesse
Armantrout for their in-water efforts to do the set up and to clean the
glassbottom boats, the bones, and Henry's pole for the park. Also thanks to
Bill Lais, David Lennon, Panos Alexakos, and Nanci LeVake for helping out
on the surface that evening.

Friday morning started at 6:00 am, with the first rebreather team of Trout,
Rose, and Mee setting up the main exploration team. At 10:00 am the
exploration team left the surface for a long day of diving. The B-tunnel
exploration team of Cole, Werner, and Miller left right after this - it all
went like clockwork. Two clean-up teams were sent in for this dive due to
the unexpected longer bottom time. Straatsma and Landon were the first;
Cole, Miller, and Werner were the second, leaving at 3am to go to 3500 for
clean up.

We had two deep greet teams of Robert Carmichael and Errol Kalayci, Herve
Deschamps and Scott Hunscuker. The rest of the support for Friday morning
through Saturday morning was Lori Boock, Tim McMahon, Frank MacDowell, Jody
Everett, Panos Alexakos, Nanci LeVake, Cathie Neel, Scott Vascavage, Bill
Lais, David Lennon, Tony Rue, Eric Schmidt, Jim Greenlee.

Every single person who came out to help this weekend worked selflessly to
get the job done. We had guys doing multiple shifts in-water, some who
stayed out 20+hours , and several who , on top of everything else, hauled a
ton of gear out of the water all evening and morning long.

Thank you - every single one of you on this team - for everything. There
are so many things I want to thank each person for. I hope you all realize
how much every person on this team counts in making things run smoothly and
successfully.

Once again, the WKPP has proven what can be accomplished doing things the
right way with the best people in the business.

I'll see you all again at the next dive,

Dawn Kernagis
