Over the years there has been a barrage of false and misleading internet postings calling into question the safety of the OMS Inc. product line. These postings have been made by a select few individuals based in Florida. By leveling unsubstantiated allegations, they are only attempting to advance their own commercial interests and competing products. While OMS Inc. respects the right of every individual to express his or her own opinion about likes, dislikes and legitimate safety concerns with regard to equipment, we do not condone the practice of defamation and unfair competition. If a competitor can manufacture a better product then those offered from OMS Inc., we congratulate them for advancing the diving industry. However, due to the fact that numerous false statements have been made, we now find it necessary to accurately inform the population. OMS Inc. equipment is fully characterized, tested and has been in active use for over 8 years with an excellent safety and performance record. This record has been upheld due to the high standard of training offered by agencies such as IANTD, TDI, PSI, ANDI and others, along with training in proper equipment set-up and application. OMS Inc. equipment is manufactured to the highest quality standards and has been used by and and is in active use by a number of notable divers and agencies including, but not limited to: Billy Deans, Lamar Hires, Kevin Gurr, Gavin Newman, John Crea, Steve Berman, Hank Garvin, Bernie Chowdhury, Danny Crowelll, Pierce Hoover, Mike Wiltins, Richard Pyle, Jim Bowden, Gary Gentile, Brett Gilliam, John Thornton, Chester Morrisson, Tom Mount, Terrance Tysell, Curt Bowen, Swedish Navy, Canadian Armed Forces, and NOAA. OMS Inc. equipment has also been used on many Technical Dive Projects such as the Andrea Doria, Lusitania, Britannic, USS Monitor, Carolina, U Who, Cazador, Pilar, Belize Blue Hole, Gunilda, Zacaton and many others. (If we didn't list your name, agency, or dive project, we apolgize) As a result, OMS Inc. Equipment has been used safely in over 30, 000 estimated technical dives. All diving activtiies can be dangerous if they are not performed according to recognized safety guidelines, within each diver's level of training and with properly maintained equipment. Therefore, OMS Inc. encourages all divers to seek proper education and instruction before commencing any diving activity.
