Suffice to say I have a lot fo tanks. Frankly more than has become easy to manage. Tanks for mix, tanks for oea, tanks for argon, tanks for oxygen, tanks for silly stuff, and yes tanks for air(pools, OW checkouts etc). Besides OEA labeling we use a large content label and we mark the MOD on the tank itself. For mixing purposes we use a laminated tag which we affix to the tank manifold or valve with zip tie. This tag is marked with a permanent marker, when its done - its clipped off and held as a record of that tank. SO that we dont have problem with our tanks EVERY tank gets a label and every tank gets analyzed before its use. What we do for air tanks is just too simple. I ordered from Grainger (i happen to see them in thier cataloge) peel and stick labels that are in OSHA Green and White that say AIR its a bout 1.5 inches by 4 inches -- 4 on a sheet, anytime a cylinder is only getting air .... tank is dumped and refilled with air and the nice BIG air label is affixed to the crown of the tank, in this position it does not get torn in the truck.
