2nd bladder drysuit
===========        =======
2nd bladder drysuit
2nd inflator hose no drysuit equivalent
2nd ovp drysuit ovp
2nd lp hose drysuit lp hose from argon
no bladder equiv argon bottle
no bladder equiv argon first stage

then again you have an argon bottle which people often use for multiple dives
resulting in a LIMITED amt of gas for backup inflation.

I'm not saying which is better, I am pointing out that both have their
drawbacks.

Ok, hey, carry an argon bottle for the 2nd bladder if it makes you happy.
Now the two are equivalent. Except of course that one is labeled stroke
and the other is blessed correct. I'm still struggling to see the huge
difference.

If I don't need the warmth and you have just admitted that I don't wear
it "merely" for the buoyancy, then the 2nd bladder is a much simpler solution.
You just insisted that I add a drysuit and an argon bottle to dive in 80
degree water just so I can wear high capacity steel tanks.

I thought the philosophy was to not take what you don't need. I might decide
I need backup buoyancy. I can get that at the simple level with a backup
bladder
or 2nd set of wings. Adding a drysuit adds more complications beyond that,
why add them when you don't need them?

for cold water? Sure. go drysuit and 1 bladder, makes perfect sense.
However in dives where exposure is not the issue, you are suffering from
addiction to dogma. At worst you should be able to allow that either system
meets the desires of some backup buoyancy when exposure is not an issue.
