Subject: Another example of so called technical diving
Yet another log to be thrown on the fire that will probably lead to the
text=death oftext= so called technical diving. A guy i know was looking to get
a tank filled with oxygen for an oxygen text=resuscitatortext= kit without
going through the hassle of dealing with the gas houses. The poor sob wanders
into the shop of "Mr. Deep Air" and asks about their fill prices. According to
this kid before he gets the question out he is being asked do you have a
text=trimixtext= card. the kid is a poor college student and has no desire to
dive that deep right now and says so. he then text=explaintext= that he wants
to use the cylinder as an text=auxilliarytext= o2 text=emergnecytext= kit for
when he is text=fartext= from shore. The dive shop monkey proceeds to tell him
that they only fill to 36text=without a trimixtext= card. At this
text=pointtext= the kid asks why he could get a d bottle filled but not a 72
even though both were going to be used for the same purpose. The monkey
responds with the typical "liability" bullshit. As the kid is leaving the
monkey asks how many 72 text=cufttext= tanks of 02 he has seen to which the kid
replies oh 4 or 5 of yours used for emergency 02 storage. The monkey once
again protests that that was an unusual usage, The kid will probably never
step foot in the home of deep death. he figured it out in order to get o2 from
text=mrtext= deep air it costs 3,000 versus a 1 year tank text=rentaltext= form
text=trigastext=. Wonder what he will do. Sorry for the length. Just seems
that stroke text=reallytext= ought to be pushing the use of todays technology
instead of deadly diving on air. just a thought.
