Another strange thing about wing construction for gliders is that it is not
the perfectly smooth surface that is the best. In fact you want micro
turbulence so the wind do not "stick" to the wing. The micro turbulence
acts as a kind of roller bearing.

And this is why the OMS has the bungies to create these curves, it's there
to produce turbulence so the water won't stick  to the wing. The only
problem is the manufacture of OMS misunderstood the drawings and the
messures. The data for the curves that was ment to produce this turbulence,
where given in micrometers but they made curves with the equal amount but
in inches.

In wing construction you don't make curves to produce micro turbulence, but
you drill very tiny holes in the wing surface.  Why not try this with the
OMS wings, maybe this will reduce the drag [;-)
