I am new to tech diving and purchased the 'bondage' wings a couple of months
ago. I have put about 25 dives on them ranging from 30' to 130', in and out
of various wrecks including the U853. I have had no problems with them
'dumping' at 130 and find them comfortable. If I did it over again I
probably would not have gotten them (I have dual 50LB bladders with the
bungies) because I do not need that kind of lift. Most of the guys I dive
with have are 'bondaged' and seem to like them, I will probably get off them
by next year just to reduce the bulk, two bladders and two inflators and
that much lift make for a lot of bulk to swim and/or carry. I did however
not use the standard strap system and put the harness from my Zeagle Ranger
on them and find it much more comfortable. Double OMS 112's with argon
get's heavy and the Zeagle makes it more confortable to carry. I realize
this probably puts me in the 'STROKER' class but comfort is important to
keeping the mindset calm. Doing it right should also include a comfort
level. As I observe my students and other divers I find that they are
better divers the more comfortable they are with their own gear. Maybe I'm
a stroker but if that's what it takes to be a good diver and a safe diver I
will take any label that the group wants to toss out.
