They show you how to use the zip ties, the procedure is to zip tie your bad guy cross handed in front and then to stare at him down the barrel of your M16a2, M9 or M60. Why?? Because the zip ties break and if your partner gets hurt because of them( or because you weren't watching) you will never work the road again. (BTW, that's Hogarthian , eh?) For drunks you use the baton and when they are still, you use peerless hinged, or s&w chain.
