I would like to thank all the tech-divers who replied with helpful
comments regarding the poster I placed about the availability in Britain of a
"Genesis" style manifold for twin cylinders with a central isolation valve.
Some of the replies were posted directly to me and not to techdiver@opal.com.
The following summary may be of interest to British or other European divers
also wishing to fit a full redundancy manifold. I don't have the complete
story...but this is as far as I got :
- The original Sherwood 'Genesis' manifold looks like it might be
available in Britain (info from local dive shop/Sherwood dealer). It is not
clear what cylinder threads this will have, but without British 3/4" BSP or
metric M25 (not M16...this was my error in 1st poster) it will not be of much
use to anyone over here.
- The "Dive-Rite" manifold system/situation is about the same.
- M.D.E. (UK) Ltd. are bringing out a British made item. A prototype
example of this was displayed at the recent Dive Show in Birmingham last w/e
(see seperate report of show). Claimed to be available in "6-8 weeks". Both
M25 and 3/4" BSP thread options are expected.
- Ocean Management Systems do make a high quality isolation manifold
which definately is available with M25 thread. OMS have just set up a UK

I was fortunate to find and buy the only OMS manifold at the Birmingham
Dive Show and hence have solved my problem. Thanks again for all of you who
made the effort to give helpful comments. Now I know what to do during those
looo..oong deco stops. Practice reaching over the back of my head....!
