On BBB1 TV (a UK TV channel), 7.30-8pm on `Tomorrow's World' (a program about
inventions), Friday 14 Oct 1994, I saw the Newtsuit! It is an armoured
pressure-resisting diving suit. From the description and from what I saw: it
can resist 100 bars (= 3300 feet = 1000 meters); it is not troubled by a
tendency for joints to go stiff at depth like previous armoured diving suits;
it is surface-fed; it is neutrally buoyant; it had a motor and propeller pack
on its back; it had simple grabs on the ends of its arms, not proper gloves.
It costs 500,000 pounds UK. Nothing said about what it is made of.
