With three of the dives over, WKPP has the following to report. In the process of exploring Wakulla Springs O Tunnel, Jarrod Jablonski, George Irvine, and Brent Scarabin added 3,240 feet of line to the 11,000 foot end to reach a total distance "from air" of 14,240 feet, a new World's Record. This is at an average depth of 285 feet. The cave went right around Cherokee Sink and kept on going . Several new tunnels and features were also discovered. Check this - one floor area at 14,000 was swept clean of silt an littered with fossilized stalactites at 290 feet ofdepth. We called the dive after two reels to go back and check a bigger tunnel behind us , and to stay on target wtih our ETA back at Wakulla. We have teams the meet us . This dive took 250 minutes bottom time. I used the same table as last time but axed the 50 stop down to 60, did 10 at 43, 30 at 36, and 200 of oxygen to shorten it down a little since I had to drive back to Lauderdale after the dive. The dive was done on the Halcyon rebreather, and a tripple scooter. I did not use the third scooter. I stayed on the Halcyon for 8 /12 hours. Run time was around 14 hours. In Big Dismal, my report his afternoon is that it is running Northwest at 210-220 feet in large cave. The others will fill in the details of the dives. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'. Send subscribe/unsubscribe requests to `techdiver-request@aquanaut.com'.
