My regs often bleed if I leave the air turned on out of the water so I
usually leave the air off and ask my buddy to turn it out just before
we go into the water. As I explained in another post I cannot do this
myself without partially dekitting - which is relatively easy underwater
but a pain on land/boat.

Surely it's my air and up to me whether I choose to give it to you or
not?
