Just got back from Akumal about 60 miles south of Cancun. Dove with Al Pertner out of the Original Akumal Dive Shop as well as Kay Walten of Loco Gringo Underground (look it up on the web). Also did a couple of cavern dives with a local dive shop. If you are cave certified, it is a great place to dive as it has 76-80 deg. water, relatively low flow and very little diver pressure or traffic. Both guides were great and the shop can provide EANX in any combination you want. This was important for my buddy and sweetie Sue Brillhart who dove 40% all week in her first time back in the water since getting an unearned hit last year. Great time and a lot of fun. Not deep or tech or tough but a lot of fun and very relaxing. Recommend it highly.
