17 divers went back into history Sunday diving on the two masted schooner "Northerner". Sunk November 29, 1868 with a load of cordwood. She sits upright and intact in 135 feet of cold fresh water in Lake Michigan. Vis stayed good, with this wreck being only 81 feet in length, due to the excellent training and experience of the Tritons Dive Club members. A second dive was made on the "Niagara" -an 1856 Side Wheeler sunk in 50 feet of water 12 miles north of the "Northerner".
