There is NOTHING so bullshit macho as the phrase "make the cut on the Wahoo". I'm surprised to see this from you. This, I think, characterisies the whole line of idiot boat-monkey bullshit coming out of the NE. Focus on your diving, NOT what the hired help thinks. The captains/skippers (depending on where they operate) are generally well seasoned pros who disdain this macho "approval" bullshit. But the hired knuckle-draggers are another story. Most are not even half way down the runway (see Chris Freels post on bondage wings vs flat wings for example) - but try to tell them they're not flying. Here's a handy hint: Keep a special eye on the ones who are dyslexic AND a boat-monkey (you can often pick 'em by their rough spelling or inability to sequence). Once, just before I dropped over the side I had a diso deck hand turn both my tank valves off when he thought he was turning them on, then he backed 'em up half a turn so I couldn't tell. Yeah. You'd do well to find another yardstick for your diving than whether or not you "make the cut" on a boat.
