Hey Nanci, I'm trying to cut back on sending email at home, so I'm doing it at work today. I spend way too much time in front of a computer to be sitting on it again after work, so I decided to read or work in my shop instead. I am reading your emails though (how did you get in with the WKPP?). On the topic here, I just got a Halcyon 18lb wing for open water single al80 diving. I made my own single tank adapter out of aluminum and took it for a test drive this weekend in Hudson Grotto. You should see this wing- it is so tiny that you can fill it completely with 2 breaths of air! The material is so sturdy that it does not flap underwater, and you can really swim FAST! My buddy was testing his new doubles and Explorer wing setup and I was swimming circles around him. The harness is so sturdy for holding the tank that I could spin around my long axis while swiming without feeling any tank slop (try that with a soft harness!). I figured out my minimum weighting and filled the tank adapter with lead (poured it), using the tank bands to hold additional lead shot bags for salt water or thicker wetsuits (no more weight belts for me). I'm taking it to the Keys this weekend, I can't wait! -Kyle P.S.- I wonder how long it will take the rest of the equipment manufactures to latch onto the "keep it simple" philosophy for recreational gear? -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
