I started diving in the NY area many years ago. Going out on a weekly or bi- weekly basis, I did my tour of the NY and NJ boats and found myself most comfortable with the Wahoo. Her Captains and crew took me diving, allowed me the time and space to turn dive theory into muscle memory. I got to see many types of dives, divers, gear, gear configurations, and how they all played out in the ocean in a wide range of conditions They have always treated me with courtesy and respect as an individual and diver. They have always responded to any problems or questions in a timely, appropriate and accurate way: as they did with Wrolf's scenario. He came back to the boat safe and sound and still working to improve his diving. I have never seen an individual belittled as seems to be the operating mode on this forum. I believe that diving carries with it ( or should) a large dose of the apparantly forgotten ethic of personal responsibility. The Wahoo and her crew do not commit the act of hubris in the day to day reallities of running a dive boat. They do it, day in and day out and do it well. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'. Send subscribe/unsubscribe requests to `techdiver-request@aquanaut.com'.
