On a recreational dive a few years back, in Cayman Brac, the boat died about 100 yards from shore on our way back from our first charter of the week. We left our gear on the boat and swam to shore in slightly choppy seas. I was geared like a recreational diver, with a snorkel. It made the swim a little easier. While I don't use it for my diving now, unless I'm being a role model for recreational diving students and thus following agency standards, I do throw the snorkel in my gear bag, just in case. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
