Kevin, Try Baur Compressors. We've had good luck with them on the boat. Expect to pay $2500 to $3500 for a used compressor. Try contacting your local fire departments. Frequently they fill their o= wn tanks and have their own compressor. If they are looking to upgrade you might get a great deal. A suggestion for farther down the road... DON"T try to cobble together replacement filters. Yup, I know the ones from the manufacturer ARE expensive.... = BUT... this IS your BREATHING AIR we are talking about !!!!! If you can'= t afford to maintain it, you can't afford to buy it !!!!!!!!!!!!!! >You wrote: = >I'm in the market for a small (4-8cfm) compressor for personal use. = >Probably only want to spend enough for a used one in good shape, and I know >virtually nothing about compressors, but here are my thoughts on my >priorities: > >1) Value (price/life) >2) Reliability and maintenance upkeep >3) Price >4) Capacity (I need very little of this) -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
